Sr. Brand Manager Timex Sport & Outdoor

Timex is seeking a Senior Brand Manager to join our team in Middlebury, CT. The Senior Brand Manager, Timex Sport & Outdoor will be responsible for the Timex sports business in the U.S. He/she will be responsible for managing the US product portfolio, working closely with US Sales and Supply Chain on product assortments, business analysis, and forecasting. This role will spearhead the development and execution of all U.S. Sport marketing programs including Media, PR, Social Media, Consumer Promotions and In-store. Additionally, he/she will partner with Canadian sales and marketing teams on product portfolio, forecasts and marketing programs to ensure brand objectives are delivered.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Brand Planning and Execution - Work with global team to develop consumer-facing brand communication. Deliver revenue, volume, and profit targets with the development of strategic marketing programs. Manage the day-to-day deliverables by owning cross-functional team management, agency relationships, timelines, and budget.
Business Analysis - Utilize shipment, consumption, and syndicated data to develop actionable plan to address marketplace learning. Assess competitive product and marketing activities to understand impact on category. Provide sales feedback to product teams. Track effectiveness of marketing programs and project launches to incorporate learning into future efforts.
Sport & Outdoor Business Product Portfolio - Work with Product, Sales and Supply Chain, to strategically plan the assortment, monitor in-market performance, and develop end of life strategy/programs to manage inventory.
Athlete and Event Strategy-- Manager strategic integration of Timex Multisport Team and other athlete sponsorships, in addition to running/triathlon events in US.
Forecasting - Incorporate category, customer, and brand strategies to develop short and long-term forecasts for revenue and volume. Co-own monthly consensus process with Sales and Supply Chain.
Sales Partnership - Collaborate with Sales team across multiple retail channels to create programs that meet retailer and consumer needs. Establish deep understanding of channels and what tactics are most effective at driving consumption. Present product and marketing plans to buyers at key sales meetings, including Outdoor Retailer Show and NYC Market Week.

Education/
Experience:

Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred
Minimum of five to seven years of overall brand experience, with some sports and/or consumer technology experience preferred. Commercially-oriented with experience dealing with major US retailers.

Skills:
Strong understanding of consumer attitudes and trends within the sport category, with the ability to translate opportunities for Timex marketing programs and product development.
Proven Leadership Skills - Track record of handling complex projects and managing priorities. Ability to deliver strong business results while building collaborative relationships across the organization; ability to work cross-functionally and across marketing functions. Ability to manage and develop direct reports. Enthusiasm and can-do attitude.
Consumer Orientation - Ability to leverage consumer insights to define target markets, trends and buying habits. Passion for understanding what drives consumer behavior and the opportunities to influence these to drive incremental sales.
Customer Orientation- Knowledge of sales process as well as retail needs and challenges. Proven ability to create compelling sell-in stories to help drive customer engagement.
Analytical Skills - Ability to analyze data, determine trends and patterns, and translate into actionable business plans.
Results-Driven Mindset - Proven track record of effectively managing resources and prioritize across all fronts to ensure efforts are going against the biggest opportunities. Focus on not only end result but also process utilized so that best practices can be institutionalized.
Communication Skills - Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. Strong presentation skills, and comfort level presenting to internal and external senior management. Ability to champion ideas and persuade across as well as up the organization.
Financial Understanding - Possesses a full understanding of the impact of activities on the P&L (Net Revenue, Gross Margin, Profit); Ability to manage annual budget.
